He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Homer and Imogene Ritchie (Scott). He is survived by: his wife Edwina R. "Winnie" Ritchie (Travers); his children, James N. Ritchie, Charles B. Ritchie (Stephanie), Alexina Antonson-Mason (Chad) and Amanda Schwinger; his siblings, Sherry McDougal, Vicki Lemen and Charles N. Ritchie; his grandchildren, Hayden and Haylee Ritchie; and his pets, Buttercup, Cocoa and Nigel.
