He is survived by: his wife Helen "Sis" Collins (Harrity); his son Peter Matthew Collins; his stepdaughters, Heather Hudson (Jerry), Holli Hudson (Brett) and Melanie Irwin; his stepgrandchildren, Brian (Casey), Mallory, Joey, Emilia and Cooper; his brother Edward T. Collins III (Lynn); and his pets, Weezie and Stanley. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family.
