Angel Miguel Harris Obituary
Angel Miguel Harris, age 23, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on July 19, 2025. Born on July 12, 2002, in Newark, Angel was a brilliant young man whose kindness, ambition, and unwavering love for others touched every life he encountered.
Angel was a 2020 graduate of both Bohemia Manor High School and the School of Technology in Elkton, Maryland, where he made great friends, like Jacob Frye and Caydin Fuller, whose friendship surpassed high school. He went on to study computer programming at Full Sail University Online, completing three years toward his Bachelor's degree. A passionate and talented gamer known in the online community as Elysianhex, Angel wasn't just a competitor — he was a builder of community, organizing Smash Bros tournaments that brought players together and gave them a chance to shine.
In 2024, Angel chose a path of service and joined the United States Air Force, leaving for basic training on November 25th. He graduated with honor as an Airman First Class on January 15, 2025, with the Knights 324 TRS Flight 113 at Lackland Air Force Base. He went on to complete Tech School at Eglin AFB in Florida before receiving his first assignment at Hill AFB in Utah. There, he proudly served as an F-35 Avionics Apprentice with the 388th Fighter Wing's 34th Fighter Generation Squadron.
Angel brought the same passion and drive to the Air Force that he brought to everything in life. He embraced the challenges, the structure, and the camaraderie. The night before his passing, Angel told his mother that joining the Air Force was the best decision he had ever made — that it gave true meaning to his life and connected him deeply to his grandfather, Phillip Harris Sr., a Vietnam veteran whose stories inspired him.
Angel had a magnetic energy and a generous spirit. He loved nature, physical challenges, and exploring the outdoors. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends, and his presence lit up every room he entered. Whether he was cooking with his mom (especially her famous Birria Tacos), joking with his siblings, or checking off bucket list adventures with his Wingmen — Shane, Josh, and Melanie — Angel made moments unforgettable.
Above all, Angel's heart belonged to Misheel Moreno-Herrera, the love of his life. Their bond was rooted in deep respect, joy, and a shared vision of the future. They dreamed of building a life together, buying a home near her family in Colombia, and one day starting a family of their own. In every sense, Misheel was Angel's anchor and his greatest source of happiness.
Angel is survived by his devoted mother, Sarah Harris; his uncle and adoptive father Phillip Harris Jr. and his wife Audrey; uncle Robert Fassbinder and wife Debbie; uncle Daryle Whittington; aunts Jevonia Harris and Edith Delgado; grandmothers Maria Harris and Beverly Powers; and his beloved siblings: Ruben Harris, Joshua Velasquez, Ezequiel Velasquez, Nicholas Velasquez, Hector Velasquez Jr., Shaan Mohamed, Suhaile Velasquez, and Eva Velasquez. He also leaves behind cousins Israyel, Ariana, Jackson, Theodosia, Seraphina, Crissy, Maddie, Michael, Jaritza, Dalitza, and Carlos Jr., and many extended 2nd and 3rd cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hector Velasquez; grandfather Phillip Harris Sr.; and grandmother Juanita Osorio.
Angel lived with integrity, joy, and an open heart. His absence leaves an unfillable space, but his spirit — full of light, love, and purpose — will live on in everyone who was lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of Angel's life will be held on August 8, 2025 at 11:00AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may gather beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
