He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Belle (Woodruff) and Willie Lee Norman; his siblings, C. W., Cecil Norman and Wilma Kidd; and his granddaughter-in-law Emily Norman.
He is survived by: his sons, James E. Jr. (Joan) of Salisbury, MD and John of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Matthew (Tara), Zachary and Kathryn Mayers (Nathan); and his siblings, Marjorie Jarratt and Harry Norman (Shirley). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
