It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Bardo Gerhart of Newark, Delaware, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 4, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Roscoe and Margaret Helene Gerhart (Bardo); his wife Gladys Lee Hefner of Valentine's Day; his siblings, Janice Bardo Gerhart and Guy Leslie Gerhart; and his daughter Sandra Jean Gerhart.

He is survived by : his children, Janice Gerhart Bowers (Thomas Alan) and Dennis Guy Gerhart (Sherry Marie); his grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Gerhart Bowers (Colleen Elise), Lauren Elizabeth Clarke (Brian Andrew), Megan Lynne Wilkinson (Tyler James), Patrick James Gerhart Bowers (Joy Abigail Griffith), Kyle James Gerhart (Joy Juliana) and Ryan Thomas Gerhart (Leãnne Destiny); and his great grandchildren, Emily Grace, Genevieve Elaine, Keira Jean, Makenna Elizabeth, Olivia Marie, Marshall James, Beckham Ryan and Josiah James.
