In the sacred silence of farewell, Nancy is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Nancy's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Clayton Gilbert and Bertha Trexler Gilbert; and her husband Horace "Bucky" Chalfant, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Renee Baker (Bob) and Scott Chalfant; her grandchildren, Nichole Smith (Deauntra) and Justin Chalfant; and her great grandchildren, S. J. and Damian.
A graveside service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Silverbrook Cemetery (3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805).
