Pauline Mabel Shepherd Obituary

Pauline Mabel Barney Shepherd, born September 12, 1920 to Raymond Barney and Gladys Meeks Barney. She lived to the age of 101. She went home to be with our Lord on Friday, December 10, 2021. She loved you all!

She is survived by her children: Mary Liz Clark (Bob), Richard Shepherd (Sharon), Evelyn Mitola (Joe), Bonnie Adkins (Keith), Michael McCleary, and Bill Shepherd (Jimmy); 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. She will now meet her sons Norman, Raymond, Donald Lee Shepherd and Lewis Mccleary in Heaven. She is also preceded in death by her sisters: Mary "Betty" Markland Hatfield and Patricia Urry; brothers: Steve and Donald Nasko and step-brothers and step-sisters.

Pauline attended Wilmington, DE schools growing up and was raised in Colonial Heights in Wilmington, DE where she loved roller skating around town on their sidewalks. Pauline married Edward Estle Shepherd on December 15, 1937. She moved from the city to be a farm girl milking cows and worked in a factory, Continental Diamond, where she made breast plates for soldiers. Pauline also had worked as a waitress at Newark Diner Post House and at Viking Diner. While working at Gore she worked at 76 Truck Stop as a cashier for 5 years, and at NBC's call center. Pauline retired from WL GORE and associates after 26 years. She will be most remembered for her Apple Cakes she made at Christmas time.

Family and friends are invited to Pauline's celebration of life service on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. where family and friends may start visiting at 10:00 a.m. at R.T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home located at 122 W. Main Street Newark, DE 19711. Burial at Kemblesville Cemetery will be held privately. Pauline's last requests of her thoughts to share with everyone: *"Don't forget to feed (unsalted peanuts) and say hello to the squirrels and love one another.". *Her first email address was named Beachymamma – message was " The sun is shining" *There's enough sadness everywhere , I'd rather people to talk and laugh and remember good times together.".
