He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood Henry and Margaret Johnson (Breece); his former wife Susan Kay Johnson; his son Richard Ryan Johnson; and his sisters, Louise Longacre and Nancy Orledge.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Elaine Sooy (Donald) of Newark, Ronald E. Johnson, Jr. of Ocean View and Virginia Lynn Thaniel (Paul) of Baltimore. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park (2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
