He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Patterson; and his parents, William Patterson and Annie Patterson. He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Guglielmo (Ed), David Patterson (Laurie), Robin Messick (Darryl), Gwendolyn Patterson (Steve) and Brian Patterson; his stepson Robert "Bobby" Thomas; and his friend Cathy Butler. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.
