With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bernice Whaley (Seaford, Delaware), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 18, 2025 at the age of 98. In the sacred silence of farewell, Bernice is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Ockels and Nellie Ockels; and her siblings, Edward, William, Herman Ockels of Seaford, Rueben Ockels of Milton and Florence Thomas of Seaford.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Whaley (Tina) of Snow Hill, MD, Janice Arney (Kenny) of Oakland, MD and Patricia Rayne (Daniel) of Seaford, DE..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cranston Funeral Home (300 N Shipley St, Seaford, DE 19973). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
