It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doretha Peterson of Seaford, Delaware, who passed away on April 28, 2022, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Peterson and Helen Peterson (Cottom); her daughter Shakenya Renaye Murray; and her siblings, Willie Peterson Jr., Charles Peterson, Bernice and Elaine Peterson.

She is survived by: her daughter LaWanda Lanese Murray of Federalsburg, MD; her granddaughter Tamisha Jonae Perry of Federalsburg, MD; her goddaughter Tameka Teagle of Seaford, DE; her siblings, William Peterson (Shirley) of Hurlock, MD, Richard Peterson of Hurlock, MD and Christine Lankford (Peterson) of Federalsburg, MD; her nieces, Tynika Hudson, Elaine Pinkett (Hudson) and Sherlaine Cornish; her cousin Sheretta Cottom; her friend Sheena Rhodes; her nephews, Ray Hudson Sr., Little Leon Brooken, Kevin Peterson Sr. and Andre Barham Sr.; her friends, Faye Batson, Linda Robinson, Wanda Banks, Beverly Butler and Pauline Spry; and her cousins, John Cottom and Barbara Ann Frazier.
