He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Warren Nichols and Oterita Shaw Nichols; and his siblings, Lester, Warren, Roger, Virginia and Alma.
He is survived by: his wife Constance Bazzrea Nichols; his children, Katherine Wier (Jan), Sean Taylor and Robert Lee Nichols; and his sisters, Maggie and Sissy. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
