He was predeceased by: his parents, Olden W. S. Waples, Sr. and Annie Mae Harmon; his daughter Tammi Waples; and his sister Linda Sharpe Showell. He is survived by: his wife Venetta Waples; his daughters, Adrienne Flint (Tony), Vonyette Akins (Daniel) and Tameka Roach; and his siblings, Olden W. S. Waples, Jr., John Waples, Jean Wylie, Diane Little, Phyllis Hayes (Stewart, Sr.) and Annie Williams Melvin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
