Arthur Bray Jr. Obituary
Arthur Bray, Jr., 92, of Selbyville, DE, departed this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Born in Greenville, GA, he was the son of the late Arthur Bray, Sr. and Salomia Freeman Bray. His wife of 49 years, Ann E. Bray, also preceded him in death in 1999. Mr. Bray attended Curtis United Methodist Church in Bishopville. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #37 in Seaford, DE.
He served in the United States Navy. Prior to retiring, he was employed by the New York City Transit Authority as a motorman. He will be lovingly remembered by: a Daughter Rosa parker Jackson and a son, Archie Marvin Williams (Desiree); a brother, Roosevelt Winkfield (Alma); two sisters, Jeanie Ferrell (Jimmy) and Annie Hopkins (Michael); five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a devoted companion, Vida Savage, and her three children and two grandchildren who assisted in his care; a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Bray and Arthur Bray, Jr. II, and two sisters, Connie Smith and Lucille Hunter. Mr. Bray will lie in repose on Monday, September 18, 2017, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Curtis United Methodist Church, 11808 Campbelltown Road, Bishopville.
The funeral service will begin at 12 PM. Rev. Timothy Duffield will be the Officiating Pastor. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
