He is survived by: his wife Barbara Mendez; his children, Christina Mendez-Karpin (Rob), Stephanie Mendez, Camryn Mendez, Mario Mendez Jr. and Aaron Mendez; his stepchildren, Samantha Diaz, Amber, Briana and Christian; his grandchildren, Adaline Karpin and Scarlett Detrick; his stepgrandchildren, Michael, Alex, Urijah, Ariani, Damian, Kaden, Samara and Atreus; his mother Retta Sorsdal; and his brother Manuel Mendez III (Debi).

A burial was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lakemont Memorial Gardens (900 W Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035).
