We announce the death of Ruth Ella Hauf of Selbyville, Delaware, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 78. Ruth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Ruth will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Ruth’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Jack Maaskant; and her husband Joseph A. Hauf. She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth Anna Smith (Corey); and her grandchildren, Corey, Christopher and Chase Smith. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Baltimore National Cemetery (5501 Frederick Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228).
In lieu of flowers, the family will accept condolence cards at the graveside service to be used for a future memorial dinner.
