He was predeceased by: his father Gordon Schmidt. He is survived by: his mother Helen Schmidt (Hall); his wife Diane E. Schmidt (Hayhoe); his daughters, Michele Bunce (John) of Denton, MD and Stephanie Bunce (Tom) of Denton, MD; his brother Wayne Schmidt; and his grandsons, Bryan, Dylan of Kylee, TJ, Sean and Corey.
