We announce the death of Etta Elaine Usilton (Smyrna, Delaware), born in Townsend, Delaware, who passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 83. Etta will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Blanchfield and Nina Blanchfield; her significant other Woody; her children, Richie, Lester, Tommy, Michelle, Raymond and Linda; and her siblings, Elmer, James, Dallas, Rodger, William Blanchfield, Alice Clough, Anna Burris, Frances Landing and Janet Woolahand.
She is survived by: her brother Brett McConnell (Donna); her children, Cheryl Ratledge (Steve), Patty Rothwell (Dan) and Daniel Daniel Betts; her nieces and nephews, Linda Atkins, Pat (Paul McGinnis), Julia (Carl Steele), Rhonda Snow, Brian, Michael McGinnis, Greg Neal, Berry and John Blancfield; her great-niece Wanda Lynn Snow (Jimmy Lee Snow, Jr.); Tina (Tim), Lauren (Jeffrey), AJ Snow, Mara Tienda, Tala, Morrigan McMullen, Karen Reardon (Clint), Angel Slaughter (Owen) and William Clough. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 9:00 AM and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Faries Funeral Directors (29 S Main St, Smyrna, DE 19977). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
