We announce the death of James Earl Shetzler of Smyrna, Delaware, who passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 98. James Earl will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. James Earl will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. James Earl’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Shetzler and Hester Shetzler (Baker); and his wife Sara Shetzler (David). He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Sapp; his grandchildren, Amy Dawson (Steve) and John Sapp III; his great grandchildren, Stephanie Armstrong (Brett) and Casey Ramsey (Jordon); and his great great grandchildren, Emma, Carter and Violet.
