He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Preston Burris, Sr. and Margaret Hardesty Burris; his wife Francine Ann Burris; his son John Preston Burris; his sisters, Kitty Wood, Jane Neal and Marie Faulkner; his great grandchild Alison Davis; and his son-in-law Robert M. Kinsey, Sr..

He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Ann Burris, Donna Lynn Cantillon (Jimmy) and Louise Kinsey (Freddie); his grandchildren, Paul Davis (Sara), James Preston Cantillon (Maya), Robert Kinsey, Jr. (Jennie), Jessica Lynn Cantillon and Preston Kinsey (Jill); and his great grandchildren, Scarlett Kinsey and Greyson Kinsey.
