Richard S. Silver Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Richard S. Silver of Townsend, Delaware is shared. Richard, born on June 14, 1939, passed away on October 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Royal J. Silver and Gertrude Wilson Silver; his wife Irene Pruitt Silver; and his sister Judith Silver Sturgeon. He is survived by: his daughter Debbie Hughes (Harry); his grandchildren, R. Scott Silver, Jr. (Susan), Eric Silver, Rachel Silver, Montana Hughes and Serena Hughes; and his sister Virginia "Jinx" Silver Steele.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home (212 N Broad St, Middletown, DE 19709). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Richard by sharing a memory, watching an episode or two of Everybody Loves Raymond or M.A.S.H., or simply enjoying time with loved ones. Also, please consider a donation to a local veterans' organization such as the Delaware Veterans Trust Fund or other charitable veteran support organizations.
