He was predeceased by : his parents, Leroy and Helen; his sister Lorraine; and his stepsiblings, Rhoda and Leroy.

He is survived by : his wife Elouise; and his children, Dwayne Pierson, Ricky Pierson, Michael Junkins (Jane), Michelle Viering and Mitchell "Mickey" Junkins. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
