Benson; his stepmother Verna Jean Dorsey; his grandparents, Vandella and Russell Dorsey; his father-in-law Thurston Harrison; and his siblings-in-law, Nicholas Pinckney and Tijuana "Monique" Scott.
He is survived by: his son Zachary; his wife Denise; his daughter Kaitlyn; his parents-in-law, Margaret Pinckney, Earnestine Scott-Harrison and Paul Pickney; his siblings, Bridget Benson (Simone), Ty-Kisha Standford (Anthony), Katrina Jones-Milner (Clare), Derek Benson (Michelle), Shaka Dorsey (Donna), Damon Guy and Preston Brittingham; his siblings-in-law, Antoniette Brown (Audra), Paul Pinckney (Sally) and Joseph Scott (Audra); his aunts and uncles, Sandy Stith, Deborah Benson (Pete), Brenda Melton, Sheila Cole, Bruce Benson (Sheila), Kirk Benson and Mike Dorsey (Dorian); and his cousins, Bruce Commodore (Darlene), Kirk Benson Jr. (Anna) and Mark Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Alan was an organ donor and on December 30th he took the Walk of Hope saving 4 lives through his selfless donation.
