It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Mitchell of Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on February 23, 2026, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Barbara Mitchell to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Casimir Chetkowski and Ida Chetkowski; her mother-in-law Marcella Mitchell (Mickey); and her brother Richard Chetkowski. She is survived by: her husband Lee Mitchell; her children, Karen Beaudet (Bill) and Steve Mitchell (Patti); her grandchildren, Alyssa (Cody), Billy Beaudet (Madi) and Courtney Mitchell (Campbell); her siblings, Lorraine Schmedding (George), Jerry Chetkowski (Dottie) and Michael Chetkowski (Judy); and her close friend Maryann Smulski (Pete). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Delaware Veterans Post #1, 2535 Veterans Dr, Wilmington, DE 19810 or Toys for Tots.
