He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Thornton and Sarah Thornton (O'Leary); his siblings, Margaret Mealey, Thomas Thornton, Mary Hewes, Rose Leskie and Joseph Thornton; and his pet Sadie Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Murphy Thornton; his children, Kelly McGrath (David) and Chuck Thornton (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Katie, Shaun, Meghan, Ben and Hayden.
