He was predeceased by : his father James W. Dorsey, Sr.; his wife Geraldine Redden Dorsey; his daughter Dolores Collins Broomer; his siblings, Mary Emma Wilmore (August), Charles W. Dorsey, Sr. (Jeannette), James W. Dorsey, Jr. and Bernard S. Dorsey (Valerie); and his sister-in-law Barbara Dorsey.
He is survived by : his sister-in-law Gardenia Moore (Ben). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
