Douglas E. Thornton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas E. Thornton of Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on July 7, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Raymond D. Thornton. He is survived by: his children, Shawn Thornton (Sarah), Caitlyn Thornton and Jason Thornton; his mother Anna Marie Thornton; his siblings, Sheryl Ann Thornton, Anna Marie Thornton, Judy Bloomfield, Janice Thornton and Steven Thornton (Mary); and his grandchildren, Logan, Sienna and Jax Thornton.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the CHI United Church (5151 Chichester Ave, Aston Township, PA 19014). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Chichester United Wesleyan Church (5151 Chichester Ave, Aston Township, PA 19014). A burial was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Glenwood Memorial Gardens (2321 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008).
