He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Taggart and Teresa Taggart (Gough); and his brothers, Joseph and Harold "Mooch". He is survived by: his siblings, Jane Schofield (James, Sr.), Jack Taggart (Debbie) and Robert Taggart (Marjorie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
