He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Clough Sr. and Susan Sellers (Clough); his stepmother Mary Hocking Clough; and his siblings, Steve Moore Jr., Patricia and Kathy.

He is survived by: his sons, James A. and Andrew T. Clough Cooper (Josh); his former wife Pam (Mike); and his siblings, Robin (Wayne), Mary (Benny), Joanne (Michael), Julie (Toby), Stephen (Kim), Jeffrey (Terry) and Francis (Carrie). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to James's name be made to Mealey Funeral Home.
