He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas James Johnston of Northern Ireland and Margaret Mackey Johnston of Northern Ireland. He is survived by: his wife Diane Harman Johnston; his children, Stacy Wenner (Michael), Michael Simpers (Ashley) and Jennifer Johnston; his grandchildren, Tyler Noethiger, Alexis, Delaney Wenner, Mackenzie, Adam and Kylie Simpers; and his siblings, Paul Johnston (Caroline), William "Jackie" Johnston, Wendy Dobbin (Paul), Jean Gray (Eddie) and Linda (William). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
