We are sad to announce that, on February 2, 2026, James R. Mellbye of Wilmington, Delaware passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, James R. shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid James R. farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry; his daughter Deanna Ritter (Matt); his grandchildren, Olivia and Owen; his son Daniel Mellbye (Jill); his grandchildren, Maddie and Lucas; and his children, David Mellbye, Nicole Mellbye (Rocco) and Christopher Mellbye.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to Compassion International, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
