She was predeceased by: her parents, Susanna M. Diffendall (Layman) and Frank E. Diffendall; her son Stephen R. Chalfant; and her siblings, Francis Diffendall and Ruth McAvaney.
She is survived by: her husband Harold R. Chalfant; her daughters, Catherine "Andie" Chalfant and Maribeth A. Samluk (John J. Samluk); and her granddaughter Jesse T. Connell. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
