With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Esther Berry (Wilmington, Delaware), born in Bahama, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 19, 2025 at the age of 87. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Naomi Parker and Lucious Parker; her brothers, James and Samuel; her stepfather Prince Peaks; her stepchildren, Charlotte Berry Washington and Charles Jr. (late Buster); her caregiver Charlotte Berry Washington (Booker); her sister-in-law Georgetta Parker of Durham, NC; her stepgrandchildren, Rashida Pipes (Larry), Jamal Berry and Martel Nelson; her stepsibling's children, Nancy Lewis, Evelyn Selth, Lois Lamb (Toby), Charlotte Smith (Woody), Cooper Wall (Atlanta) and William Berry; her niece Shirl Wall (Derrick); Willie Vanhook (WV) of Hampton, VA. She was also cherished by step- cousins, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and other extended family.
After Covid 19, Jean decided to leave City Fair, and became a member of the William Hicks Anderson Community Center's senior program.
