He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Haney (Monigle); his children, John J. Haney Jr. (Linda Spruance), Susan (James Druss), Patricia "Troney" Haney (Michael Donovan), Mark Haney (Debbie Sell) and Kathleen (James Remerscheid); his stepchildren, Michael, Laura Maguire, Bridget, Ron Dimaano, Tim Maguire, Megan Maguire, Dr. Katie and Justin Nguyen; his sister Mary Alice Martelli (Luke); his siblings-in-law, Teresa Szczechowski and Dan Monigle (Linda); and his friend Fran Stawicki.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mealey Funeral Homes & Crematory (2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (4701 Weldin Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803).
