She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Ken; her children, McKenna and Evan; her parents, Steve Simmerman and Janet Simmerman; and her siblings, Steve Simmerman Jr. and Lorna Charnock.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to fund clinical research focused specifically on the ROS-1 genetic cancer mutation that she battled for three years.
