She was predeceased by: her parents, Felicita Velasquez and Antonio Ortiz. She is survived by: her husband Monserrate Vazquez; and her children, Eduardo Ortiz, Irma Ortiz, Demetres Vazquez, Yolanda Vasquez and Araceli Vazquez. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
Luz also donated to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital yearly.
