He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Swain and Elsie Nichols Swain; his wife Betty Kauffman; his brother Rodger; his sister-in-law Alison; his brother David; Robert and Donald Swain.
He is survived by: his siblings, Richard Allan Swain (Kathy) and Carolyn Swain; and his children, Dennis, Cynthia Beane (Richard) and Beth Rodriguez. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM at the Richardson Park United Methodist Church (11 N Maryland Ave, Wilmington, DE 19804). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations in Marvin's name can be made to Penn Medicine, Abramson Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
