He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew B. McConnell and Margaret "Pearl" C. McConnell; and his brother Douglas. He is survived by: his wife Denise; his son Matthew Steven; his daughter-in-law Lindsay; his grandson Finn (Terrance); his sister Linda (Richard); and his nieces and nephews, Matthew (Meg), Jennifer (Alec), Douglas (Monica) and Kaylee. He is also survived by ten great-nieces and nephews.
