He was predeceased by: his son James Michael Pohlen. He is survived by: his child Guatemala; his wife Joanne; his daughters, Ann Baldwin and Catherine Bair; his sons-in-law, Robert Baldwin and Bruce Bair; his grandchildren, Nicholas Bair, Lindsey Bair, Robert Baldwin Jr. and Brett Baldwin; his sister Eva Deck (Charles); and his nieces and nephews, Michael, Francis and Paul.

“Hello, My name in Barbara Bonk and I had Dr Pohlen as a professor in the early 80's. I was just telling someone about him a few weeks ago. He was a great supporter of Hewlett Packard Company and convinced me that I really only wanted to work for HP. I was hired and have been with the company for 35 years. I met many of my close friends there who also came from Dr. Pohlen's classes over the years. He helped build a great group at HP. He will surely be missed, but left a great legacy.”
