He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Durnan and Rose Durnan (Kindbeiter); his father-in-law Clifford Smith; and his brother-in-law Steven Kramarck. He is survived by: his wife Cathleen (Smith); his children, Emma Dear (Joshua), Conor (Kali) and Erin Durnan; his grandchildren, Logan, Keegan, Griffin, Jameson, Delaney and Shelby Dear; his siblings, Arthur (Susan), Casey, Timothy and Maribeth; his sisters-in-law, Karen Griffith (Donald), Judy Mahoney (David) and Deanna Blizzard (Troy); his mother-in-law Rose Marie Smith; his stepmother Debbie Durnan; and his extended family Bobby.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Matthew Church (901 E Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faithful Friends or the SPCA in memory of Patches, Babe, Ruth, Bandit and Reese.
