He was predeceased by: his wife Esther McKinney; and his siblings, Catherine Mea and James McKinney. He is survived by: his children, Robert McKinney (Gloria), Michael McKinney (Michelle), Donna Bentley (George), Edward McKinney (Carol) and Sharon Snavely (Tim). He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
