He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Wilbur Smith and Edith Wood Smith of Wilmington, Delaware.; his wife Doris C. Smith; his sister Nell S. Saulsbury; his daughter Donna S. Shreve; and his girlfriend Freida Jackson.

He is survived by: his brother Kenneth Smith; his children, Eric Smith (Cynthia) and Terri Tooley (Britt); his grandson Gordon Ross Tooley (Amy); his great grandchild Charlie; and his granddaughter Jordan Tooley Couchot (Carter).

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church.
