It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sara Smith (Wilmington, Delaware), who passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Smith and Josephine Smith; her sons, John and Terrance; and her siblings, George Smith, Marquerite Jackson, Edward Smith, Lorraine Meek, Phyllis Sampson and Albert Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Caroline, Alberee and Bernard. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She dedicated many years of her professional career to working for former Wilmington Mayor H. G. Haskell, Sr., demonstrating her commitment to public service and significant contributions to the local community.
