He was predeceased by: his mother Sheila Benson-Jones; his grandparents, Flora Benson (Henrietta Vance) and Robert L. Benson (Leroy Vance); and his siblings, Rick Mason and Carmen Winward.
He is survived by: his wife Michelle Brown-Benson; his father Richard Mason; his children, Taylia Benson, Shawn Benson Jr., Brittany Martin, Tonisha Murray and Jahmier Wilson; his son-in-law Jermaine Martin; his stepsons, Lamar Brown and Davon Brown; and his siblings, Antha Jones-Tiller, Marla Jones, Tanya Faison, Simone Mason, Sophia Mason, Dayshanay Brown, Bridget Benson, Martina Brown, Lavern Sutton, Bret Jones, Mark Smith, Louis Tiller, Eric Whitfield and Sterling Mason.
