He was predeceased by : his parents, James R. Fitzgerald, Sr. and Hazel Fitzgerald. He is survived by : his wife Valeria Fitzgerald; his children, Spencer Wayne Fitzgerald, Jr. and Tiffany W. Powers; and his brother James R. Fitzgerald, Jr.. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church (20 W Lea Blvd, Wilmington, DE 19802). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Gracelawn Memorial Park (2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720).
