She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence R. Nichols (Blanche L. Nichols) and Blanche L. Nichols; her husband James R. Howard; her sisters, Maxine Miles and Daphine Scrivens; and her grandchildren, Vernisha Steward and Vincent Steward.

She is survived by: her daughters, Tawana L. Howard-Collins (Leroy) and Tasha "Tootie" C. Steward (Vernon); her grandsons, Kymir D. Howard and Vance R.; and her sisters, Joyce Hemingway and Linda Fews. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
