He is survived by: his wife Ann Hitchens (Coakley); his children, Ellen and Mark of Wilmington; and his siblings, Joan Hitchens, Patricia Hearn, Rosalie Hitchens, Donald, Robert and James Hitchens (Carol). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
