He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Mable Starr (Horner), Joseph and Frances Swalkowski (Bojarski). He is survived by: his wife Andrea M. Starr (Shields); his parents, Edward J. and Mary C. Starr (Swalkowski); his siblings, Michael Starr (Kristin), Glenn Starr (Cheryl) and Carolyn Riccio (Tom); and his brother-in-law Andrew J. Shields (Carmela). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Brandywine Zoo, Penn Medicine, or Compassionate Care Hospice.
