She was predeceased by: her parents, Tremell Wright and Larry Jackson; her grandparents, Herbert and Estella Wright; her uncles, Keith Wright and Herbert Wright Jr.; and her mother-in-law Nina Mae Turner.

She is survived by: her husband Troy Barnes; her grandmother Doretha Bryant; her siblings, Cenise Wright, Tiffany Chalk (James) and Larry Jackson (Monique); her children, Donald Benn Jr. (Nicole), Tyler Barnes, Brittani Benn and Tori Barnes (Jamal); her grandchildren, Dymend, Safiyer, Marquise, Jamarria, Aria, Amari, Nylah and Maelyn; her great grandchild Nasir Coleman; her aunts, Joyce Jackson Booker (Johnnie) and Leslie Wright; her cousins, Quinnetta James (Tony), Tinisha Jackson (Charlie) and Lee Jackson (Lola); and her pet Rugby. She is also survived by friends and co-workers.
