He was predeceased by : his parents, William Mooney and Hannah Mooney; his wife Grace Mooney (Furey); his children, Tara Mooney and John Mooney; his siblings, Peggy Finnerty and John "Jack" Mooney; and his close friend John Mooney.

He is survived by : his son William D. Mooney (Michelle); his grandchildren, Grace, Sara, Caroline, John and Jake; and his siblings, Carolyn Smith and Nicholas Mooney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St Kevin Church (200 W Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
